Nervous about Wednesday

CURRENT MOOD: NERVY :(
CURRENT MUSIC: YE QU by JAY CHOU

I'm very nervous about my driving test on Wednesday, definitely no doubt about that. Just had my final revision lesson yesterday at the test centre and luckily for me I got a pretty good driving instructor. He told me about my weakest points and advised me on the DOs and DONTs during the test. He also helped me master the parallel parking obstacle, and if I do really get through that with ease on Wednesday I will thank him lots man. Practically tried everything as he brought me to the more challenging areas like test routes 6 and 7 and Ubi Rd 4. I'll just be so thankful not to get the test route 6 and 7 because it's so fuckin hard. Especially the lane change part, oh my god yesterday was the first time I faced so much difficulty doing lane change. The whole place was experiencing a traffic jam, and the other cars were complete fuckers...all dun wan to give way want le..and it's really tough to judge the cars' speed. I think if I sway sway get 6/7 I'll just be mentally prepared to come back to Ubi for another test date. Seriously.

PRAY FOR ME TO PASS MY DRIVING OK....

Received news on Friday that Mdm K will be treating us guys to a buffet dinner. It's to give ORD-ing boy Jia Hao a treat. An expensive one indeed. Place was at Clarke Quay, Swissotel Merchant Court to be precise. Haha. Dun frequent there really often so had to meet Calvin to ask him to lead the way there. Hence, met him@Parkway for some pool before we took bus 196 down over to Clifford Pier and walked all the way to the destination. I felt extremely gutted because I did not do any workout yesterday went I should have. When will I really get down to business?!?!? The tummy grows but I continue to ignore. Worst still, if you looked at today's Straits Times, Lifestyle section, on the cover page you will see 2 PANDA XIONG TIAN PINGs. One 60kg, the other 100kg. FucK. How did he become so fat?? Anyways, he looks so disgusting now and what I am afraid is that someday I will follow in his footsteps! NoOOOOOOO!!! Never!!!!! I've got to cut down SOON. Anyway, back to the main issue, we had buffet dinner and I guess Calvin and I ate the most. Damn full man. Liked their Chocolate Fountain and Crispy Platter. That's about it. The rest of the food was sub-standard. The sashimi was a total turn-off and the shark's fin soup tasted more like beansprout chowder. I'm serious. Not worth the money unfortunately. Too bad I couldn't appreciate oysters coz if there was one thing that looked really a MUST-EAT it was that. Anyways, thank you Mdm K for your treat. Really appreciate it. It was again the same situation as Calvin and I did not speak to Jia Hao. I dunno what's his problem but he seriously has mood swings because he can talk to you yesterday and treat you like a foe today. Craziness. Why he is not talking to us I donno, but if he wants this to carry on so be it, coz I dun think Calvin and I gives a damn about it. Such a pity.

One of my closer relatives left us on Friday. Din really expect her to leave us just like that but reality is that that has happened and we got to face it. Went straight to the wake after the Merchant Court dinner to pay my respects. I am just happy that I managed to chalk up some time to pay her a visit just last week, and I knew she was really happy to see me. My mum is really sad about this cos she was like a mother to her. I guess my mum will be feelin rather shitty about this but I will try my best to spend time with her over the next few days.. After everythin I stayed over at Kai An's place as we watched Liverpool win West Ham 2-0 and Boro thump Man Utd 4-1. Here is my conclusion about the Man U Middlesborough game:

MAN UTD SUCK, RIO FERDINAND SUCK EVEN MORE.

Just finished watching ONG BAK on Channel U. Tony Jaa is a tremendous fighting machine. I dare say hez much better than the likes of Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Whoo...he just mesmerizes me with his superb fighting skills. Now I so want to watch, and die-die will watch the upcomin Thai Action Movie TOM-YUM-GOONG. Tony Jaa.. hez the man. Haha.

My seduction style

Your Seduction Style: The Natural

You don't really try to seduce people... it just seems to happen.
Fun loving and free spirited, you bring out the inner child in people.
You are spontaneous, sincere, and unpretentious - a hard combo to find!
People drop their guard around you, and find themselves falling fast.

Hmm..interesting...haha..

Finally started to do a little workout

It was a Saturday with a fully-packed programme for me as I started the morning waking up late, as a result having to take a cab down for my driving lesson. Talking about driving lessons, I cannot afford to fail my driving test this coming Nov 2 because I have no more money to set aside for another string of driving lessons plus another booking for the driving test. Besides, the reality of having to wait so long before you can proceed for another dig at the driving test is simply unthinkable. I don't care if it's 6 points or 19 points, damn it I just want to pass. Oh I saw Jeremias as I was leaving the centre, and he hasn't changed abit. A good lad, so easily recognisable. Haha.

After that I arranged to meet up with Xuan Yu to go for some swimming. I decided that I gotta start to do some workout someday and therefore decided to accept his very kindly invitation to join him. I swam a cool blue 22 laps in the olympic-sized swimming arena in Hougang Swimming Complex, and I felt really contented with myself. Swwimming this distance is by no means an easy task but I didn't gave up. Haha.

Then in the evening I went to visit this relative of mine who was really in quite a poor condition, therafter meeting up with Ken, Russ and Tze Hin in town. Found out about the new food court in Wisma Level 4, which I explored for a little while before I met them. It's really big as the food court stretches a whole level and I took a peek at the various types of foods they were selling and it's really not bad. I'm sure I will try out the food there pretty soon I would hope. Haha. We walked around after Russ finished his shopping@TOPMAN and thought of where to go. We stopped over outside Indochine to listen to their house band perform and, I must say they were really good. Finally decided to settle down in Russ's new house@Katong area. His new place was a dream really. A really nice 3-storey house and oh my god it was just absolutely astounding. The whole place had such modern design and how I wished I was living there too. Russ's room was even better. So spacious, and his king-sized bed was just laid on the floor. The whole layout of his room was simple yet beautiful. Equipped with the PS2 console and the plasma screen TV, I wished it was my room. Then, he brought us to the very top of his house which was equally kool. You feel like you are simply on the top of the world. Definitely near the standard of my dream house. Russel you lucky bitch. Haha.

We watched the Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur soccer match and it was rather entertaining. Jena's goal was a beauty and although we were disappointed Liverpool lost to Fulham, we were equally glad Manchester United failed to beat Spurs. We chiong-ed down to Teo Heng to sing about an hour of karaoke, and we tried to sing as many songs as we could, haha singing like one chorus for each song then skipping already. Never have we finished singing a song fully. Anyway what was so crazy about us was that Russel, the ultimate Karaoke King managed to search for one of those stupid songs again and this time it was 'Ai Bu Pa' by Grasshoppers(Cao Meng). The MTV was a joke and it was so funny and the lyrics are even worse. Haha, but that was our last song, and we sang it with a huge bang and I think everyone who could hear us tot we were nuts. Haha. It was fun though.

Our last stop was this Hong Kong eatery along Upp East Coast Rd - I think it's called 'Shi Nai'. Recommended by Tze Hin, we went there for supper. Before we even went in we saw a ferrari parked near the shop and immediately guessed that some big shot was dining in that restaurant haha. Guess wad, we saw Mediacorp Artiste Le Yao, and whether shez the one driving the ferrari, you can go ponder on your own. Haha. For this supper we must thank officer-to-be Quek Jongy, who offered to give of us a treat. We ordered food and beverages including Coffee-Tea Yuan Yang, Iced Mango Pomelo(My personal favourite), French Toast with Peanut Butter Spread, HK Cafe Noodles, Soya Sauce Noodles With Deep Fried Pork and some Deep Fried Wanton. The Wanton was exclusively expensive as 6 of them cost $5.80. Daylight robbery rite? Craziness. Russel also became infatuated with this girl whom supposedly was Le Yao's friend. Probably all of them just finished filming or somethin coz that girl was dressed in a uniform. No other reason to explain why rite, because she doesn't look to be like a student, at least to Russel. Haha. What a bummer coz I din get to see her face as I was seated such that my back was facing her back. Wanted to c if Russel's taste was normal or just totally fucked up haha. Hmm...the things there are pretty expensive, but they're good la. So maybe I'll consider popping by again. Haha. An ideal place to bring your girl to if you have run out of places to dine in. :)

Thank you Russel for fetching me home. Haha. By the time I stepped back home it was already 0345. Quickly washed up and got some sleep. Was originally scheduled to play mahjong with my army buddies Tian Hao and Wei Yang but we had difficulty finding the last leg coz Calvin was not available. Therefore, in the end we cancelled it. NVM. Plenty of time to win money haha. Next time I should jio Justin Neo over. It's just because his exams are underway tt's why I dare not really ask him out for mahjong haha. Prolly when his exams end we will meet up for mahjong again man...haha it's been long since we met up.

Oh..

How true.

An interesting viewpoint about McDonalds

Was looking forward to my medical appontment at NSC this afternoon today coz it's always good to be able to get out of the office. Just a few outstanding stuffs left yet to do, and for once in my new vocation I feel at ease, a lil easier to breathe now that everything has been settled here more or less, and I'm gettin rather used to life over there. :)

Anyways, since it was on my way I decided to lunch on McDonalds to satisfy my hunger. Had my favourite burger - Mcspicy Double, and I must comment on the quality of the french fries today. Fried near perfection and even the colour was good enough to show that it was Grade A standard. Haha. If you realise that whenever you order somethin from McDonalds, there will normally be a sheet of paper attached to the tray and the contents written in the sheet of paper will be nutrition information about the various types of foods you can find in McDonalds. So as I was eating, I scanned through the nutritional values of the different burgers and found some interesting results from there:

McChicken contains 510kcal of energy, 30g of fat and 50mg of cholestrol, while Mcspicy Double contains 504kcal of energy, 22g of fat and 25mg of cholestrol. Hmm... notice any discrepancies? It's kinda weird rite, considering Mcspicy Double is made up of 2 chicken thighs and McChicken only contains a single chicken patty? So why does McChicken have more fat and cholestrol than McSpicy? Something to ponder...haha..will be great if anyone who studies nutrition can answer this query of mine. I tot it was kinda interesting so I should share it up on my bloggy. Maybe it's McDonalds providing incorrect values? Shouldn't be that huge a possibility rite, considering that McDonald's has an enormous reputation to protect. Hmm.....

Also, before I even had the chance to order my food in front of the cashier, one of their restaurant managers had already came up to me and asked me what was my order goin to be. Equipped with just a palm top, she keyed in the order and handed me a slip which had only numbers on it. 'Just present it to the cashier,'said the manager. Actually, this ordering system of McDonalds has been in place for kinda some time already, but it really caught me thinking as I analysed its cost-effectiveness. They implement such a system in place, and the obvious advantages will be to speed up orders and lessen queue time. More orders will result but can the profits from these orders offset the cost of this system? I should feel this system is very expensive, due to the mechanism of generating order codes and buying several palm tops for each and every restaurant, at least those in Singapore..therefore, if you would isolate this situation and not let other factors come into play, would you think it is McDonalds making a loss or a profit? I guess only those working in the higher ranks of McDonalds Coporation would know the answer. But nevertheless, I feel it's really interesting to weigh out the cost-effectiveness of various implementions by different companies, and from there think about the benefits that arise from such areas. Kool to really find out how different organisations work and create opportunities to earn themselves some big-money deals.

Hmm..perhaps....just perhaps....the blogger here has a business mind in the making....hahaha

Good N Tasty Yong Tau Foo

AIMING TO: REDUCE MY WEIGHT COZ I'M GROWING SO FAT. CLOSING IN ON 70KG WHICH IS DISGUSTING!
CURRENT MUSIC: DREAMS by DIANA DEGARMO

Some people are just pure idiots who simply will do anything to try to get the best out of everything. I know of one such dumbo in my unit and I shan't comment any further.

Anyway had dinner with Calvin today as we dined at a coffeeshop just residing next to Bedok Interchange. It was Yong Tau Foo and it's really cheap and good. I ordered quite alot and it only cost $2.60. Their sweet sauce mixed together with some high quality chilli made the yong tau foo value for money. Highly recommended. U bet I will go there and eat again.

Wake up idiots, September has ended

CURRENT MODE: SLACKING@WORK
CURRENT MUSIC: MY HUMPS by BLACK EYED PEAS

Just about a month ago Meiqi left for the United Kingdom to pursue her studies. 2 weeks later, another good friend of mine leaves for the same place to further her education. This time, her departure was much more emotional. Several of my other frens who went to see her off at the airport that day broke down totally. A tinge of sadness struck me as I just looked on as she left for the departure gate. The guy who probably was worst-hit was Daryl. Putting up a strong front, he refused to shed a tear in front of us, as she hugged Charlene for one last time. After she went in, Daryl was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he needed some peace. I did my best by sending him a message telling him not to take it too hard. But I know I can never fathom the deepness of the cuts he has suffered after that very night. I hope both Meiqi and Char are doing fine over in London.

Just last Saturday I played field soccer in what was my first time in 2.5 years...and as expected I didn't perform to my full ability. In fact, I played like a fuckin twat. I was used in 2 positions, RMF in the 1st half and LB for 2nd half. Fatigue set in quickly as I started the game on the right flank. Playing under the hot sun, my energy was draining fast and I knew I was lacking alot of fitness. Haven't been exercising on a regular basis so it was no real surprise actually. Missed tackles, lousy passes, wrong positioning, you name it. My performance was just sickening. And after 25 min I decided it was just too much for me and I told Alex to switch me out. In the 2nd half it was worse as I played in LB which I totally was unfamiliar with. I played the opponents onside and even failed to clear easy balls. What the fuck was I doin man. Luckily, our keeper Simon was fantastic that day and the match ended 0-0. At least the result wasn't wrong. If we had lost I probably was goin to shoulder much of the blame. But anyways, I would like to comment that Alex was shouting the whole time, which I really didn't like it at times. Just shouting negative comments all over the pitch is not goin to spur the team on, at least not me. Maybe....just maybe he can take a few pointers from Shawal, who was at least encouraging. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Alex is a bad leader, in fact he makes a good leader. Just that hez probably too overbearing at times. Alex, if you are reading this, no offence ok. But, please do know that passion is not anger. Do try to control your temper even though I know it's your nature. Chill dude. Haha. I guess it was a totally good workout and a valuable experience for me that day. Completed the afternoon when I lunched with Calvin and Gerald at some nearby coffeeshop in Cantonment Rd. The Lor Mee was really not bad. Maybe we were just hungry. Haha.

kOOLio!! I won 64 bucks over the weekend as I betted on some soccer matches.... International matches are easier bets I feel. Well...wadever.

Watched "THE MYTH" with Mum yesterday. Kim Hee Sun(I think it's spelt like that) is really gorgeous and Mallika Sherwat was another stunning beauty. I tell you if I were an Indian I would have gone crazie over her. The show was really not bad at all! Exceeded my expectations. The first movie where Jackie Chan actually dies, although it's just a myth n everythin haha.

MOVIE RATING: 3.5/5
